Johnson's TaeKwonDo & Leadership Academy of Cary, North Carolina has been teaching the highest quality in martial arts instruction in the Cary area for over 12 years. We are committed to excellence in our martial arts programs and to teaching our students skills beyond the kick, the punch, and the throw.
Johnson's TaeKwonDo Academy is a member of - Tiger Rock Martial Arts International an organization founded by martial arts masters that believe in the highest quality of training on the mat, but also that the purpose of a martial arts education is to prepare its students for citizenship. The Martial Arts school known as Johnson's was founded by Bryson and Melissa Johnson. The Johnsons teach the majority of the classes in their academy. This is important, because we feel that this makes their academy the best in the area with the highest quality.
Bryson and Melissa Johnson have over 34 years of combined experience. Bryson is a 5th Degree Black Belt. Melissa is a 4th Degree Black Belt. They met in TaeKwonDo class in Grand Master Terry Newton's martial arts school in Augusta, Georgia at 12 years old. They have now been married for 8 years and have a 2 year old son. If you are looking for a family-oriented karate school, you can not get much more family-friendly than that. Johnson's TaeKwonDo is a family-friendly martial arts school, and you still will not find a school that has better training ON THE MAT in the Cary, Apex, or Morrisville area for self-defense training. OFF THE MAT, the Johnsons encourage their students to take their skills out of the dojang and into the world. In fact, that is the mantra for their school, "Out of the Dojang and into the World!"
The academy students practice something known as Project-Based Leadership Training . They really are making a difference in their communities. The academy has weekly Leadership Hour classes on Friday nights at 6pm where young students can practice leadership experientially. This is why the Johnson's curriculum is so much more than punching and kicking. Their training transcends the mat.
